The Unit of Nutrition is one of the units under the division of Family Health. It was established to address the high levels of malnutrition since independence and it has evolved to meet the emerging health and nutrition issues in the country in line with global goals and World Health Assembly Resolutions. It is headed by the Director of Nutrition who coordinates national programs and also leads 500 nutrition staff who work at county and community level throughout the country.
